This Baltimore Ravens defender should dominate the Los Angeles Rams
The Baltimore Ravens have some advantages over the Los Angeles Rams as they host them in week 14. One of the matchups that they need to win this week is Odafe Oweh against the Rams' left tackle, Alaric Jackson.
The Baltimore Ravens need to get a big performance from Odafe Oweh against the Los Angeles Rams
Jackson has had a nice season and has been successful for a UDFA, but this is still a UDFA, and he is in his first real year as a starter. He can be exposed at the right times, especially against the more athletic pass rushers. That would fit perfectly for Odafe Oweh to have a strong game against their left tackle.
Oweh is having a big year. He is one sack off of a career-high, despite 214 fewer pass rush snaps than his career-high season. His pass rush win rate went up from 11.5% as a rookie to 12.6% the year after, and now it is 16.9% at this point.
What is even more impressive for Oweh is that he has faced some strong competition. Oweh faced Laremy Tunsil in week one and got hurt in week two. Since then, he has faced Taylor Decker, DJ Humphries, Charles Cross, Orlando Brown, and Rashawn Slater. The only softer matchup he got was the Browns backup left tackle, Gareon Christian.
So, with Jackson next on the schedule, it is fair to say that this will be one of the easier matchups he has seen. With Deshaun Watson, he had a much more mobile target than Matthew Stafford, who can move a bit, but not enough to avoid the athletic Oweh.
Odafe Oweh should have a successful against Alaric Jackson and should have one of his more productive days of the season. This should be a big game on his way to a breakout season.
