1. Is the future of Patrick Queen with the Baltimore Ravens in doubt

The Baltimore Ravens passing on cornerback was one of the big reasons that drafting Trenton Simpson was a surprise. The other was the obvious question of how this will impact the Baltimore Ravens contract talks with Patrick Queen.

The fifth-year option is still on the table, and there have to thoughts that the team is declining that now. They probably would have anyways, but now they can let Simpson play a rotational role for a year, let Queen walk, and then start Simpson, picking up a compensatory pick in the process.

They also could feel good about Simpson and trade Queen now if the price is right. Of course, that price would probably have to be a third-round pick next season, and if an offer came in higher they would take it. However, Queen has not played well enough for that. The Ravens are likely going to let this play out a season, and that is good for the development of Simpson as well.

So, this is not quite the end for Queen with the Baltimore Ravens, but this is the end of any discussions involving him sticking around after this season.
