One area in which the Baltimore Ravens needed to improve this offseason was the cornerback room. However, that did not happen quite the way that the team wanted. It has a lot of fans wondering if Marcus Peters will be returning soon.

Will Baltimore Ravens sign Marcus Peters?

Earlier in the offseason the thought was that his combination of age and injury history may have the Ravens ready to move on. The issue is that the Ravens were pressed against the salary cap and they did not have their similar draft capital from most years.

So, the Ravens wanted to try to add a cornerback or two, but the best that they were able to do was sign Trayvon Mullen in free agency and then draft Kyu Blu Kelly in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL draft.

Mullen has bounced around for obvious reasons, and Kelly fell to round five for a reason as well. To be fair to Kelly, he was in a loaded cornerback class, and the Ravens say they saw him as a day-two player who was lost in the crowd.

So, while they could be options, it is hard to see the Ravens sticking their eggs just in this basket. They have Marlon Humphrey, but both cornerbacks could compete for CB2 along with guys such as Jayln Armour-Davis and Brandon Stephens. When you hear those names you can think that maybe one name rises up.

At the same time, the thought could be that they are weak here. They had a chance for someone like Joey Porter Jr. but chose Zay Flowers. If they went Porter, maybe they do not call Peters. Now that they went with Flowers it is a lot easier.

The other added factor here is the league-wide interest surrounding Peters. If the Ravens had to compete with teams, and his price went up, this is a different discussion. However, there is little to no market for Marcus Peters at this point. So, Peters is not pricing himself out of the Ravens' market, and rather his price is dropping toward the Ravens' price point.

The Ravens left the draft with a need at cornerback, and Peters still needs a team. The familiarity is there, and with Lamar Jackson back the Ravens are all-in next year. How long until we see Marcus Peters?
