Tyler Huntley could be a Baltimore Ravens trade candidate in 2023
Eventually, you would have to think the Ravens will have competition in keeping backup quarterback Tyler Huntley around. He has performed admirably in relief of Lamar Jackson over the last few seasons, and has shown flashes of brilliance at times, too.
In a league that is quarterback-dominated, and has seen plenty of significant injuries at the position in recent years, Huntley could be a very valuable trade chip. However, that woudl depend on just how confident the Ravens were in a guy like second-year pro Anthony Brown.
The former Oregon quarterback came to Baltimore as an undrafted free agent last year and stuck around the practice squad before finally needing to take the field later in the season when both Jackson and Huntley were injured. If Brown took a step this year and looked the part of a backup, then Huntley could be expendable.
Should another team need a quarterback due to an injury, the Ravens should definitely float Huntley out there as an option. The dual-threat capability is something that many teams would covet in Huntley, plus the fact that he is only 25 years old could give another team some time to evaluate him as a potential future fit.
