Baltimore Ravens TE Mark Andrews joins this historic list before 2023 NFL season

Everybody knows that the Baltimore Ravens have one of the best tight ends in the NFL with Mark Andrews, but the question is how good is he? He has strung together four straight seasons with over 700 receiving yards, and he has put up over 500 yards every year of his career.

That is one heck of a start to his career and is darn near historic. He is just 27 years old and has over 4,000 receiving yards. There are just 11 tight ends to hit that marker at that age all-time.

This is one heck of a list to be on. Kellen Winslow Jr. and Jeremy Shockey are probably the only two who will not be in Canton when things all are all said an done this list. Now, the question is whether Mark Andrews will also be one of those players.

To be fair, Andrews is over 4,000, but he is not quite on the Rob Gronkowski pace. Some of those names such as Jason Witten, Tony Gonzalez, and Kellen Winslow Sr. will probably be too high above him to have a true comparison.

He is definitey closer to the range that features Gates, Shockey, and Winslow Jr., three players who currently are not in the Hall of Fame.

Still, while none of those three made it to that height in their NFL career, those are three excellent names to be in the conversation with and shows us just how good his career has been in a historic light.

Andrews has averaged 863 yards per season in his career. With that, he would be over 5,000 by age 28 this season. Of the list above, only Antonio Gates and Ozzie were able to join the top four names who already hit 5,000 yards by age 27. Winslow Jr., Mackey, Dikta, and Shockey were not able to make hit that mark by their 28th birthday.

We will see if Andrews can join the excluisve list of six names that hit 5,000 by age 28, or if he will be sticking with the names such as Winslow Jr., Mackey Ditka and Shockey. Either way, he will remain in solid company.
