5 young Baltimore Ravens with the most to gain in the preseason
1. Jalyn Armour-Davis will have the best chance of his career this preseason
Jalyn Armour-Davis was a disaster in his rookie debut with the Baltimore Ravens. To be fair, he was thrown into the fire very early in his rookie season, and he clearly was not ready. Still, now that he is in year two the Ravens need to see some growth. It has to come in the preseason, and there will be no better time than now.
If you look at the Ravens cornerback depth chart, a few roadblocks stop him from seeing significant snaps. Marlon Humphrey probably will not play due to his status, and Rock Ya-Sin is hurt. Trayvon Mullen is out, and Daryl Worley has been working with the safeties. All of a sudden, the Ravens' top cornerback will be Armour-Davis this week.
If he struggles here, the team needs to hope someone like Kyu Blu Kelly can step in and take his role. This is about his last chance, even though it is just year two. Still, if he excels, it is the easy decision to make the team as the backup outside cornerback. With Ya-Sin already banged up, he can easily find himself on the field again this season. Can he show that he belongs in the preseason?
