5 Baltimore Ravens who need to step up to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers
The Baltimore Ravens are favored to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, we all know that when these teams get together, you throw the record out the window and line it up. It will always be a tight game. The Ravens have some advantages, but if they want to win, the following five players will be the deciding factor.
5. The Baltimore Ravens need a big game from Jadeveon Clowney
If the Baltimore Ravens want to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, it will almost certainly come down to the play of Jadeveon Clowney. Clowney has been a menace this year, and he looks refreshed and better than we have seen. However, he has been doing a lot of this alone as the edge rushers have fallen off around him.
Odafe Oweh is injured and unlikely to play this week. Meanwhile, David Ojabo is on the IR, and while Tyus Bowser is close to returning, it may not be this week. So, the Ravens will be looking at Kyle Van Noy, just a week after he signed and after playing 23 snaps in his debut, and then the rookie Tavius Robinson.
It is fair to wonder if both are conditioned to the atmosphere of a Steelers-Ravens rivalry. So, the brunt of the edge work will be on Clowney. The Steelers are weak at offensive tackle, and we may see the first start for rookie Broderick Jones.
Do the Ravens give the easier matchup to Tavius Robinson, or does Clowney get a lot of Jones? Van Noy was playing mostly on the right tackle, so Clowney will probably see both tackles. He needs to beat both and flush the quarterback from the pocket.
