3. The pressure in on Lamar Jackson to win with the Baltimore Ravens
Lamar Jackson just signed a huge contract with big-time guarantees. If the Baltimore Ravens struggle, Jackson gets hurt, or he is bad, he will be the Ravens quarterback again next year. So, in that sense, it may not be the end of the world.
However, the pressure in on Lamar Jackson to deliver a Super Bowl. Anything short of that will be a failure at his level of play. The Ravens have done everything you can to show a player that they think he can win the Super Bowl, and now it is time for him to deliver.
First, they gave him the big deal. More than that, they changed offensive coordinators. The Ravens are going to pass the football a lot more in 2023 than they did in recent years. Jackson needs to take a step as a thrower.
They also added a plethora of skill players. Nelson Agholor was the tip of the iceberg as Odell Beckham and Zay Flowers came in shortly after. Even the players they do have should be healthier than ever.
J.K. Dobbins, Rashod Bateman and Ronnie Stanley have never been healthy at the same time. As we stand here right now, they are all expected to be in the lineup for week one. So, not only does he have the money, and the new names, but his old names are in the best shape of their careers. There are no excuses, and this season has to end with a Super Bowl.
