Baltimore Ravens: Ranking the top 5 quarterbacks on 2023 schedule
By Ryan Heckman
The headline of the Baltimore Ravens' 2023 offseason absolutely came at the quarterback position.
It was the offseason of Lamar Jackson, as his contract situation was finally resolved en route to a 5-year, $260 million deal signed by the former MVP.
Baltimore also went out and loaded up on weapons for their young quarterback, making this coming season one that could go down in franchise history as not just Jackson's best, but possibly the best this team has ever seen.
As we relish in Jackson's new deal, let's also look at the top five quarterbacks Baltimore is going to face this season, starting with an unlikely hero from last season.
Ranking the top 5 quarterbacks on Baltimore Ravens 2023 schedule: No. 5, Geno Smith
Who would have thought Geno Smith would ever make a list like this, let alone any top-5 quarterback rankings in general? The longtime backup proved that he finally had what it took to be a legitimate starter in the NFL, and put up career numbers with the Seahawks last year.
The Ravens will take on Seattle at home in Week 9 this season, and face off against a guy who has only started two games against Baltimore in his career, and the most recent matchup came seven years ago.
Last season with Seattle, Smith threw for 4,282 yards, 30 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. The one full season, starting, was his first since back in 2014 with the New York Jets. Those numbers were good enough to earn Smith a 3-year contract worth $75 million to stay in Seattle.
