3. Tyler Huntley is losing ground with the Baltimore Ravens

One thing that we have discussed thoroughly this offseason is the proposition of the Baltimore Ravens moving on from Tyler Huntley. It is not a sure thing, but the team changed offensive coordinators, so the need for a quarterback that fits the Greg Roman offense is now gone. They are changing the way that Lamar Jackson plays, and Huntley may not be the right backup now.

The team is familiar with Josh Johnson, and he may have been signed to push Huntley. The reality is that if it is close, Huntley makes about $2M more than Johnson, and the team would be wise to move off of that salary. They are up against the cap, and the Lamar Jackson contract is about to get steep, so every penny saved now buys them a penny next year or the year after.

The Ravens started Johnson, and Huntley did not play until much later in the game. It showed that they are not set with where he is, and he is in a competition. It does not help that Huntley was injured in the game, either.

All of a sudden, the odds of Huntley making the roster keep getting lower and lower. Does he play deep into the second half again in this game, or do the Ravens switch things up and give Huntley more starting-caliber players to work with? That will be telling.
