Baltimore Ravens Dream Targets in 2024 NFL Offseason

The Ravens won't need much to be title contenders next year, but a move or two never hurts.

1. Panthers EDGE Brian Burns

Burns has long been the center of trade speculation, and there were even reports in the middle of last season that the Ravens called up Carolina to ask about his availability. And while Burns is technically a free agent this offseason, there seems to be a widespread expectation that Carolina has plans to use the franchise tag on him. That doesn't necessarily mean he's out of the picture, though – Carolina could tag him and then trade him, as many have pointed out; that way, they wouldn't lose a star pass-rusher for nothing, even without having to dish out a huge deal. The Ravens will need edge help this offseason, too: Jadeveon Clowney will hit the open market once again, and it doesn't seem like Brent Urban's going to be back. The Ravens are going to be spending a ton of money on extensions for their young defensive stars this offseason, so while a trade-and-sign for Burns may seem like overkill in that sense, he'd add reliable production to a team that has been living (successfully, to be fair) in the one-year pass rusher rental market over the last couple seasons.
