2. The Baltimore Ravens will keep the Kansas City Chiefs out of the end zone
The Baltimore Ravens shutting Patrick Mahomes out would be stunning to many. However, on paper, they have what it takes to be that type of all-time defense. The Chiefs have a good team, but they are not quite firing on all cylinders this year. Beyond that, they have not been tested much.
The Baltimore Ravens rank 2nd in the NFL in EPA per play allowed. The only team that the Chiefs have played this season that ranks in the top ten is the New England Patriots. Kansas City won that game, but the Patriots’ quarterback had a lot to do with that. The Buffalo Bills rank 11th, and while the Jaguars rank 13th, the Chiefs scored 17 points against them.
The reality is that this is a completely different test. The Ravens' defense has not seen a quarterback like Patrick Mahomes, but with wins over the Dolphins, 49ers, Lions, Texans, and Rams, they have proven that they can handle some of the best offenses in the NFL.
The Ravens have seen the top offenses this year, but the Chiefs have not seen the top defenses. The Ravens will prove to be prepared for this offense, and Patrick Mahomes will struggle to find the end zone.
