Bold Prediction Number 2: Tee Higgins finishes with team-high in receiving yards
Great players have a tendency to step up when it matters most. Whether that be in crunch time of a big game, down an important stretch of the season with playoffs on the line or even throughout a contract year.
For Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins, this is a contract year. While Cincinnati has remained in the camp that they want to retain him and won't trade him, this season could really alter their future plans. Let's establish the facts, here. Ja'Marr Chase is the superior wide receiver between the two. He is going to get a massive contract from the Bengals and won't be going anywhere, anytime soon.
But, Higgins is also an elite talent. We might have yet to see just how good he can be as a true number one, but this season, he's going to be on a mission. This is the last year of his rookie deal, and next year he'll be a free agent. Higgins did not get a fifth-year option as part of his initial NFL contract, making this a highly-important season for the young receiver.
With that said, it would not be too crazy to think that Higgins leads this team in receiving yards in 2023. Both he and Chase will top the 1,000-yard mark easily. But, Higgins will finish with more yardage due to his wanting to prove he deserves top-tier money as a free agent in 2024.
