The Baltimore Ravens have said goodbye to many big names in the 2024 offseason, but those losses were offset by the fact they signed a possible Hall of Fame running back in former Tennessee Titans star Derrick Henry to lead this ground game alongside Lamar Jackson.

Henry was brought in to both accentuate one of the best rushing attacks in the league while also giving their offense a trusted weapon they can lean on in the postseason. Henry's Ravens journey began at OTAs this weekend, and fans should be very excited about what he has the potential to do.

Henry put on that iconic purple Ravens jersey for the first time, officially signifying the days of Gus Edwards and JK Dobbins are over. Fans should be excited for a season that could end with some hardware if Henry is everything he is supposed to be.

Derrick Henry makes debut at Baltimore Ravens OTAs

Henry, who is just 498 yards short of reaching 10,000 rushing yards for his career, led the league in carries in four of the last five seasons (and he was on pace to lead the league before an injury in 2021). Some might be concerned about paying an older running back, but Henry's size could help him slow the advance of Father Time.

Henry was extremely productive in Tennessee despite a poor offensive line and a declining quarterback in Ryan Tannehill. Henry's 240-pound frame made it difficult for defenses to slow him down late in games, and his trademark straight-line speed has not wavered one iota.

Playing alongside Jackson will boost his efficiency as a runner. Given his MVP-level arm and unprecedented rushing skill from the quarterback position, defenses will be unable to key in on him in the same way they did during his time with the Titans.

Baltimore has one of the best running back rooms in football, with speedy Keaton Mitchell, the reliable Justice Hill, and a promising young player in Rasheen Ali all figuring to play a role. Baltimore will be leaning on Henry as the primary workhorse, however, as he remains one of the finest runners in the game.
