Update: According to Tom Pelissero, Miami Dolphins RB is also expected to remain inactive on Sunday vs. Baltimore.
The Baltimore Ravens might indeed miss some players come Sunday's kick-off in the do-or-die game against the Miami Dolphins for the right to enjoy a bye week in the playoffs, but at least the Flock still can hope to have all of their four "questionable" starters available. Not the Dolphins.
Miami will be without their second-best wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, who is sidelined with a high ankle sprain and was ruled out on Friday. Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel confirmed the news heading into the weekend.
Waddle, a key offensive player for the Dolphins, ranks seventh in the NFL with 1,014 receiving yards but won't be available against the Ravens in the game that will shape the final picture atop the AFC one week ahead of the regular-season finale a week from Sunday.
With Waddle out, ancillary contributors at the position such as Cedrick Wilson Jr., Braxton Berrios, River Cracraft, and mid-season addition Chase Claypool will have to get into increased-volume roles in the WR2 absence.
The Dolphins' injury report also includes more concerning issues, mind you, as cornerback Jalen Ramsey was listed as "questionable" to play due to a knee injury that emerged after he was limited in Friday's practice.
Additionally, right guard Robert Hunt is doubtful for the game while recovering from a hamstring injury.
The Dolphins will also enter Sunday with FS Jevon Holland listed as "questionable" to play, same as CB Xavien Howard, OT Austin Jackson, and former Ravens running back Raheem Mostert, who practiced just once this week on Friday.
The Baltimore Ravens listed four players as questionable to play Sunday including wide receiver Zay Flowers and safety Kyle Hamilton.
Cornerback Brandon Stephens, another integral player for the Ravens, is also questionable after missing practices due to an ankle injury. He joins the former two, as well as G Kevin Zeitler (knee/quad).
There is only one player ruled out for Week 17 on the Ravens's roster, that being CB Jalyn Armour-Davis who has not been able to clear the concussion protocol in time after practicing on Wednesday but missing the following two sessions on Thursday and Friday.
