Former Ravens player escapes disaster after concerning injury on Thursday

The New York Jets’ impressive Week 3 win over their long-time rivals, the New England Patriots was dampened by an injury to right tackle Morgan Moses, who left the game with a knee issue late in the third quarter.
Moses went down in pain after his leg was caught during an Aaron Rodgers sack. Though visibly hurt, the veteran tackle managed to walk off the field with help from trainers, avoiding the need for a cart. He was later seen heading to the locker room, with the Jets labeling it a knee injury. Moses did not return to the game, though this was expected given the lopsided 24-3 score.
After the game, Jets head coach Robert Saleh informed reporters that Moses would undergo an MRI on Friday to determine the severity of the injury. Fortunately, early reports suggested some optimism, raising hopes that the injury won’t sideline him for an extended period.
Morgan Moses not expected to miss season with knee injury
Moses' injury update earlier today suggested Moses will now only miss a couple of weeks instead of the presumed full season per Jordan Schultz. This is a huge relief for the Jets and Moses himself. It's never fun watching a player get hurt, but there is some solace when their injury update comes back more positive than originally thought.
Moses' injury comes on the heels of a Baltimore Ravens season where the offensive line has severe question marks. This past offseason, Baltimore traded Moses to New York for a fourth and sixth-round pick. At the time, the trade looked like a good transaction for the Ravens.
By the end of last year's season, Baltimore alternated snaps between Moses and third-year lineman Daniel Faalele toward the end of last season. Faalele impressed the staff last season enough to move on from Moses and be inserted into the starting lineup. So far, it hasn't necessarily worked out.
The Ravens also drafted Washington offensive tackle Roger Rosengarten to shore up the offensive line in the wake of Moses' trade. There have been mixed results for the rookie so far, but his Week 2 performance against the Las Vegas Raiders showed marked improvement over his Week 1 performance against the Kansas City Chiefs.
However, the absence of a seasoned veteran like Morgan Moses is still felt, as the Ravens continue to grapple with inconsistency on the offensive line. For the Jets, avoiding a season-ending injury to Moses is a huge relief. His leadership and experience are crucial, and while he’ll miss a couple of weeks, it’s reassuring that it’s not a long-term setback.
For the Ravens, trading Moses seemed like a smart move to promote younger talent. However, with Faalele still developing and Rosengarten facing rookie challenges, Baltimore’s offensive line remains a work in progress. Both teams can be grateful that Moses’ injury wasn’t as serious as initially feared.
