It's officially time for kickoff. Tonight, two Goliaths will face off in what is sure to be one of the best opening night games in recent memory. The reigning Super Bowl Kansas City Chiefs take on the Baltimore Ravens in a rematch of the AFC Championship game.

Don't call this a revenge game. This is just another opponent on the schedule the Ravens need to take down to get back to the Super Bowl. Nothing is going to get in the way of this Ravens team and their championship ambitions.

There are some new faces on both sides of the ball. However, both rosters look relatively similar to the last time they met back in late January. That feels like ages ago. The weather in that game was much colder and a bit wetter than what we are expecting tonight. Here is the most up-to-date forecast for tonight's Ravens game.

Updated weather forecast

It's looking like it's going to be storming in Kansas City. The rain is coming down, thunder has been heard, and lightning has been seen. It's yet to be determined if this will impact kickoff time.

Fans are allowed to go back to their seats after being instructed to seek shelter in the stadium. The players are still not on the field, but kickoff is set to resume after a brief delay. As of now, the kickoff time will be changed to 8:40 p.m. ET. Let the games begin!

Game day implications

Typically weather doesn't play much of a factor unless it's rude conditions. For tonight's game, there is now a lot of rain coming down. By all accounts, the weather will probably have a significant impact on the game, which is great for good ole fashioned "run the football."

When the weather is as unclear and stormy as it will be for tonight's game, the game is at its simplest. The game plan will be to run the ball and let Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson work their magic. Tonight, the teams will be battling it out via the ground. It'll be a Henry vs. Kansas City running back Isiah Pacheco.
