The Buffalo Bills faced off against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football last night. It was supposed to be a semi-competitive game, with the 0-2 Jaguars coming into town desperate for their first win of the season. Unfortunately for the Jags, things didn't go according to plan at all.
The Bills obliterated Jacksonville 47-10. They scored a touchdown on their first five drives of the game, accumulated 388 yards of total offense, and forced two turnovers. It was about as one-sided a game as you'll see.
While you'd assume the talk after the game would center around Bills quarterback Josh Allen and the sheer dominance Buffalo extracted on the Jags, you know what happens when you assume. There's no possible way that someone who wasn't even playing tonight would take center stage, right? As College Football analyst Lee Corso famously says, "Not so fast my friend!"
The talk after the game wasn't about the Bills' dominance, or the Jaguars' collapse, or the win - no, the talk after the game was all about the Baltimore Ravens and quarterback Lamar Jackson. And that's hilariously awesome.
Lamar Jackson lives rent-free in Buffalo Bills fans' heads
Oh boy, talk about clinging to the past. Despite a huge win for the Bills, their fans couldn’t wait to hit social media, ranting about how Josh Allen deserved last season’s MVP over Lamar Jackson. It’s a worn-out narrative that won’t change, no matter how much they wine and complain.
I mean, take a look at our collage below - tell me you can't let go without telling me. It's a shame, really.
The more touchdowns Josh Allen gets, the better the chance Lamar Jackson wins another MVP

If Josh Allen keeps playing like this, Lamar Jackson might win MVP 😆

Can anybody on this app tell me what Lamar Jackson does better than Josh Allen ?

Gosh, with Josh Allen playing this well, there's no way Lamar Jackson won't be MVP again.

Last season, Lamar Jackson won the MVP award by a wide margin. He received 49 out of 50 first-place votes. The only other player to receive a first-place vote was, you guessed it, Josh Allen. If Allen had been closer in the voting, maybe the whining from the fans would be warranted, however, he finished in fifth place behind the likes of Dak Prescott, Christian McCaffery, and Brock Purdy.
So why so much Lamar hate? Josh Allen received 80 voter points, while Jackson received 493 points. Yes, Allen threw for more touchdowns and yards than Lamar last season. However, if statistical prowess is the argument for MVP voting, then Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa should have won the award since he led the league in passing last year.
See, it's a shoddy argument and a moot point. However, it is absolutely hilarious that Bills Mafia can't even enjoy a primetime game win without thinking of Lamar Jackson. It has to be so frustrating knowing that regardless of how Buffalo performs, Jackson will always be on their minds.
*Josh Allen has a good game*

Bills fans:
“LET ME MAKE A TWEET ABOUT LAMAR JACKSON” https://t.co/M4cYrAmGWh
Buffalo's Monday night win comes on the heels of a matchup against the Ravens this upcoming weekend. The undefeated 3-0 Bills travel to M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, MD to take on the 1-2 Ravens who looked great in their Week 3 win against the Dallas Cowboys. It'll be a fun matchup for sure.
Even after blowing out the Jaguars, Bills Mafia just can’t stop thinking about Lamar Jackson, and honestly, it’s comical. Instead of celebrating, they took to social media to rant about how Josh Allen deserved last season’s MVP over Lamar—again. It’s like no matter how well Buffalo plays, Jackson lives rent-free in their heads.
With the undefeated Bills coming to Baltimore for Sunday Night Football, you’d think they’d be focused on that, but nope, they’re still stuck on Lamar. Get ready, because after Jackson takes the field, he’ll be living in their heads for another week.
