Lamar Jackson Rumors: 3 blockbuster trades between Ravens, 49ers
By Ryan Heckman
Trade Number 2: The 49ers send Brock Purdy and a notable defensive name in exchange for Lamar Jackson
In this second deal, the 49ers once again center the trade around Purdy. But, the Ravens want more, and they're willing to work with a deal that doesn't include two first-round picks, which again is something San Francisco would have to give up if they sent an offer sheet Jackson's way and he accepted.
Instead of two firsts, the 49ers would now focus on two players and some draft compensation in a deal like this.
Along with Purdy, the Ravens would get last year's first-round pick from San Francisco, defensive end Drake Jackson. It just so happens that the Ravens could use an edge rusher, and Jackson has plenty of time left on his rookie deal, which would allow the Ravens some financial flexibility as well.
As a rookie last year, Jackson did not start at all. But, he still ended up with 3.0 sacks, six tackles for loss, eight passes defended and an interception.
In addition to Purdy and Jackson, the Ravens would also get a third rounder this year, a first-round pick next year and another third rounder next year.
