The Baltimore Ravens earned the number one seed in the AFC and will now host the Houston Texans with a trip to the AFC Championship Game on the line. If the Ravens take care of business against the Texans, they get to host the AFC title game next weekend.

While the Ravens have been to the AFC Championship Game several times before, the franchise has never actually hosted a title game since entering the league in 1996. They've played in four AFC Championship Games but all four have been on the road.

Ravens could host their first-ever AFC title game with a win on Saturday

The first time the Ravens made it to the AFC Championship Game was in 2000 when the defense led them all the way to the Super Bowl. The Ravens played on the road against Oakland in the title game and won 16-3 to make it to the franchise's first-ever Super Bowl where they won it all.

The next AFC title game appearance for Baltimore came eight years later when rookie Joe Flacco helped get the team to the conference game. It was the first time that a rookie quarterback had accomplished that feat. Unfortunately, the Ravens fell to the Steelers by a score of 23-14.

Three years later, the Ravens made it to the conference championship again, this time playing in New England against the Patriots in the thick of their two-decade dynasty. They lost 23-20.

The most recent AFC Championship appearance for the Baltimore Ravens was in 2013 (2012 season) when they once again had to play the Patriots on the road. This time, they were the victors, winning it 28-13 and going on to win the Super Bowl.
