While the new Ravens offense became the main talking point following Day 1 of Baltimore's training camp on Wednesday, the defense put the clamps on it on Thursday, July 27, grabbing all of the headlines.

That isn't entirely surprising, though, considering the D-men featuring on the Ravens squad are far from bad. Baltimore calls the likes of Marcus Williams, Marlon Humphrey, Roquan Smith, Kyle Hamilton, and many other superstars some of their own.

Simply put, it wouldn't make sense for us to expect the offense to outplay those guys on a daily basis considering how talented the defense is, without taking anything from the offensive side of the ball.

Luke Jones of Baltimore Positive attended Day 2 of training camp live on location at Owings Mills and came up with a very comprehensive report of what went down on the Ravens' training facilities.

As he and many other reporters pointed out, the "passing game struggled to find his rhythm and remains a work in progress." Nothing to get alarmed about here, of course, considering Baltimore is installing a new offensive scheme under the guidance of new OC Todd Monken and we're just through a couple of days of real practice.

The Ravens' official social accounts declared Marcus Williams' punch of Mark Andrews' catch the play of the day on Thursday following practice. Again, another win for the defense on the second day of training camp.

According to a quote transcribed by Kyle Phoenix Barber of Baltimore Beatdown, Williams wasn't really surprised or very excited about that particular play.

"I get the ball all the time. It’s nothing new to me," Williams said. "When the ball is there, I just attack it. That’s what the game is about, right?"

Coach Harbaugh praised Williams' "communication with the secondary," and he also highlighted how the veteran has "taken over the responsibilities previously held by Chuck Clark," who left the team earlier this offseason.
