2. The Baltimore Ravens defense lost big names

The Baltimore Ravens may stay healthy, but they are still going to have questions on the defensive line and in the secondary. When you lose Calais Campbell, you are not just losing one player, but the heart and soul of the team. He is a leader on and off the field and changes the way the team plays.

Calais Campbell is the guy who plays up and down the defensive line as well. He gave them edge depth, and interior depth, and help with the 1 technique, 3 technique, and 5 technique. This is a massive loss. The team needs Broderick Washington to take another step, and Travis Jones to become something in the NFL.

If that does not happen, they will have issues up front. If an injury occurs, they are calling on UDFAs to step up. At cornerback, they have about five names vying to be the guy who replaces Marcus Peters.

It is fair that Peters' time was closer to being up than Campbell for a variety of reasons. His age and injury status were not going to help, and he is not the same locker room leader as Campbell. Still, it is clear that the team is not sure who will step in for him this season. Rock Ya-Sin, Kyu Blu Kelly, Trayvon Mullen, Daryl Worley, and Jayln Armour-Davis all have shots to get time across from Marlon Humphrey.

Still, all of them provide just as much reason to think that things could go poorly in the secondary. if the depth up front starts to get slowed down, and the back end does not have the talent they could really feel these losses.
