5 pleasant surprises for Baltimore Ravens after quarter mark of 2023 season
1. Jadeveon Clowney looks as good as ever for the Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens did not know how badly they needed Jadeveon Clowney. In the summer, he sounded like a luxury. Odafe Oweh and David Ojabo were healthy, Tavius Robinson was being praised, and Tyus Bowser was supposed to be back any day.
Bowser is still out, Oweh has been working back from an ankle injury, and Ojabo is done for the year. On top of all of that, Tavius Robinson has been a dud as a rookie and has not made any impact. Kyle Van Noy was added, but he is just been worked in over the last two weeks. The Baltimore Ravens edge rush has been Jadeveon Clowney or bust through the first couple of weeks.
In the wins, he plays amazingly. In the losses, he gave up some run lanes against Indianapolis, and he had his worst game as a pass rusher against Pittsburgh. The team going as Clowney goes is a surprise. However, his being so good has made it pleasant so far. The thought is that he just has to hold things down a little bit longer and then Oweh can provide some relief.
