The Baltimore Ravens coaches decided to remove the pads from the guys on Wednesday after using them on Monday and Tuesday, although they scheduled the longest session through training camp to date, lasting two hours and a half.

Aron Yohannes of The Baltimore Banner added on his daily report that this was only the first of four practices through the remainder of the week scheduled to take more than two hours if all goes according to plan and the heat allows for that.

Yohannes also noted the absence of pads following the two days of practice (Monday and Tuesday) earlier this week when the Ravens players were all wearing them and ramping up the physicality showcased.

Here are the most interesting storylines off camp on Wednesday.

Ravens hand day off to some veterans including Odell Beckham Jr.

When things got rolling on Wednesday, there were a few unexpected absences of players not making it to the field as everybody was anticipating. Namely: Odell Beckham Jr. and Michael Pierce.

Kyle Phoenix Barber noted it first over his twitter account and reported about it. Coach Harbaugh then confirmed that there was nothing wrong and that OBJ had been given a day off as part of the veterans practicing schedule.

Yohannes also wrote in his report that OBJ ultimately "did a workout down the left side of the practice field," along with other "semi-absentees" Michael Pierce, Morgan Moses, and Kevin Zeitler.
