The Baltimore Ravens are set to kick off their 2023 NFL season with a preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles this week. While the outcome does not matter, we know that the Ravens want to win these games. Also, we know that they will lean on their depth to bring the games home.

These are huge games for the end-of-the-roster players and depth options to gain advantages on roster battles. Who are some players that will be feeling the heat when the lights get bright this weekend?

10. Can Keaton Mitchell start making plays for the Baltimore Ravens

Keaton Mitchell will be one of the bigger movers and shakers this weekend. He is a UDFA rookie, which means nothing is guaranteed for him. He thought that he had a nice path to the third running back job, but the Baltimore Ravens signed Melvin Gordon, pushing him down.

Still, half of the reason Gordon was signed is because JK Dobbins is on the PUP. Still, if Dobbins does come back soon, Mitchell will likely be looking at finding a spot on the practice squad. Of course, things can change, and that would start with Mitchell taking things into his own hands this weekend.

Dobbins is on the PUP, and Melvin Gordon is an experienced veteran who does not need much preseason work. When you add in that Gus Edwards has a history of injuries, the Ravens could go with a heavy dose of Keaton Mitchell if they wanted to. Do they want to, and can he take advantage?
