5. Is Arthur Maulet a candidate to start for the Baltimore Ravens?

The Baltimore Ravens just signed Arthur Maulet a little more than a week ago. So, things are still a bit fresh for him. Still, not many players have much more to gain or lose than Maulet. If you said that Maulet was the starter in the slot after this summer it would not surprise, but if you said that Maulet was released in a few weeks that appears to be on the table as well.

That is why this is such a big week for him. As we noted with Brandon Stephens, the Ravens may try some different looks in the slot. However, as far as slot cornerbacks, Maulet is competing with Pepe Williams and Ar'Darius Washington for the top spot.

Williams is coming off the PUP and has practiced less than Maulet this summer, and while Maulet started for Pittsburgh last year, Washington was on the Ravens practice squad. So, Maulet could have the advantage there.

Does he get work with the starters, and for how long? How does he look? These things will determine his status.
