Ravens vs. Bills breakdown with exclusive analysis from Buffalo insider
By Matt Sidney
The Buffalo Bills are set to begin their tough road stretch for their next three games. However, they are 3-0 and they have proven to be contenders early on this season. In the last two weeks, they look like the best team in the NFL. They aren’t just winning, they are dominating their opponents. They are outsourcing opponents 112-48 in their last three games. However, they will get a big time challenge in Week 4.
Buffalo is heading back out on the road for the next three weeks and their first stop will take place in Baltimore, where they will take on the Ravens. Not only are they at a disadvantage being away from home, but it will be under the lights on Sunday night.
The Ravens come into this game at 1-2, securing their first win in Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys. The Ravens almost let the Cowboys come back to win, but they snuck away with the win. Now they must prepare for a tough Bills team that is rolling their way over opponents.
We sat down and talked shop with Brandon Ray, Site Expert for BuffalowDown to get a better sense of where Buffalo stands going into this Week 4 matchup against the Bills.
Baltimore Ravens vs. Buffalo Bills preview
The Buffalo Bills are obliterating opposing defenses, how can the Ravens' defense stop Josh Allen?
With the way that Josh Allen has been playing, it is difficult to figure out what can stop him. However, everyone has their weaknesses. For the Ravens, one way they can stop Allen is by applying immediate pressure and making him scramble and force a throw that doesn’t need to be made. Allen has a history of trying to force the big plays and it ends up as a turnover.
What matchups do you believe the Bills will try to exploit against the Ravens? and/or Which player matchup will be the key to victory in the Ravens vs. Bills game?
As far as matchups, I believe the Bills will need to do whatever they can to slow down the rushing attack between Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. Buffalo hasn’t been great at stopping the run this season up to this point. With a specific player/group that will be the key to victory, it will come down to the Buffalo defensive line. The pass rushers have been playing well this year, including Von Miller who looks like his old self. As far as the defensive tackles, it will not be surprising to see Buffalo stack the box in between the tackles to stop Baltimore’s rushing attack.
Which under-the-radar player could be a game-changer in the Ravens vs. Bills matchup?
Khalil Shakir has been impactful for the Bills and not a lot of people outside of Buffalo know about him. He is reliable and quick when he has the ball in his hands. Shakir could be targeted a lot in the short passing game if Allen feels the pressure coming quickly.
Which team is going to win and why?
While this game will be back-and-forth, the Bills look like the best team in football. Even though the Ravens can easily upset Buffalo, the Bills have demonstrated that they are more of a complete football team than Baltimore up to this point. The Bills go into Baltimore on Sunday night and take the win to go 4-0.
