The 2024 NFL Draft is underway, and the Baltimore Ravens managed to make Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins the newest member of the squad. The Ravens decided that a top-shelf athlete with 4.28 40-yard dash speed was the missing ingredient that could make their defense click.

The Ravens aren't done adding talent now that the first round has concluded, as they still have multiple impactful players squarely in their sights as Rounds 2 and 3 of the draft kick off in earnest on Friday.

The Ravens currently have two Day 2 selections in their possession, and Eric DeCosta is looking to use them in a way that could lead to another star Raven coming into the fold after Wiggins.

When do the Ravens pick next?

The Ravens have the No. 62 overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and they also possess the No. 93 pick in Round 3. Recent history suggests they have been stronger than most teams when it comes to picking players in this range.

Recent history of Ravens Day 2 picks

  • LB Trenton Simpson - Round 3, 2023
  • EDGE David Ojabo - Round 2, 2022
  • DT Travis Jones - Round 3, 2022
  • OG Ben Cleveland - Round 3, 2021
  • CB Brandon Stephens - Round 3, 2021
  • RB JK Dobbins - Round 2, 2020
  • DT Justin Madubuike - Round 3, 2020
  • WR Devin Duvernay - Round 3, 2020
  • LB Malik Harrison - Round 3, 2020
  • OT Tyre Phillips - Round 3, 2020

The Ravens have been able to land multiple starters, a future stud in Trenton Simpson last year, and a $98 million defensive tackle in Justin Madubuike. Not bad for a team often picking very late in the rounds.

Last five No. 62 overall picks

  • C Juice Scruggs, Texans - 2023
  • SAF Bryan Cook, Chiefs - 2022
  • C Josh Myers, Packers - 2021
  • RB AJ Dillon, Packers - 2020
  • WR Andy Isabella, Cardinals - 2019

The Ravens need to draft more like the Packers and Chiefs, both of whom found long-term starters with this pick, and less like the Cardinals, who saw Isabella struggle to catch on.

Last five No. 93 overall picks

  • TE Darnell Washington, Steelers - 2023
  • RB Tyrion Davis-Price, 49ers - 2022
  • OT Spencer Brown, Bills - 2021
  • RB Darrynton Evans, Titans -2020
  • WR Miles Boykin, Ravens - 2019

The Ravens will try to avoid the unfortunate history that befell Boykin in Baltimore, as this pick could be used on a skill position player with a higher floor or valuable member of the trenches on either side.
