It has been just 27 years since the Baltimore Ravens were founded back in 1996, but the team has two Super Bowl championships to boast with.

The Ravens, for the most part, have been known more for their defense than anything else. Some all-world type players like Ray Lewis, Ed Reed and Terrell Suggs headline a rich crop of defensive studs throughout the years.

But, we cannot forget about the guys under center who made it happen; or maybe, the guys who have not allowed games to be lost.

When it comest to the greatest quarterbacks in Ravens history, who makes the cut? Let's count down the top five.

5. Trent Dilfer

Trent Dilfer only ever started eight games for the Ravens and ranks just 13th all-time in franchise passing yards. However, it was Dilfer who took over for Baltimore in that illustrious 2000 season where the Ravens won the Super Bowl.

After four games in a row without an offensive touchdown, Baltimore decided to replace starter Tony Banks with Dilfer. What came next was a 7-1 record and a Super Bowl run. So, Dilfer might have only played a handful of games, but what he helped the franchise accomplish, on the back of one of the most vaunted defenses in history of course, cannot be overlooked.

That season, Dilfer didn't have to do much other than simply not lose the game. He threw for just over 1,500 yards, 12 touchdowns and 11 picks. That's not much, but he came home with a ring at the end of the day, and that counts for something.
