Ravens uniforms for AFC Championship game might be a sign they're Super Bowl bound

The Baltimore Ravens host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in the AFC Championship Game with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line. The Ravens have decided to stick to what's been working for them uniform-wise, going with a familiar combo.

Baltimore will be rocking their purple jerseys with black pants, the same look they sported when they blasted the Houston Texans in the AFC Divisional Round last week. According to Hayley Salvatore from the Ravens' official website, Baltimore has been incredibly successful in these threads, going 3-0 all-time in the playoffs and 24-8 all-time overall.

The Ravens haven't played the Chiefs since the 2021 season when they won a nail-biter. Before that game, a lot of people thought that the Chiefs and Ravens were going to be the new Colts and Patriots (or Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson were going to be the new Tom Brady and Peyton Manning QB rivalry) but then the Ravens had some down years so that narrative went away.

Now is the time for the Ravens to prove that they were down for a few years but they're going to be a contender for the next decade. This uniform combo has been a successful one for them in years past so why not rock it for the final AFC match-up of the season?

The Ravens are in the AFC title game for the first time since the 2012 season when they went on to win the Super Bowl. They're behind the 49ers in odds-on favorites to win the Super Bowl, currently sitting with +170 odds per FanDuel, as of this writing.

In the Ravens' win over the Texans, the game was tied 10-10 at the half and then the offense really exploded in the second half, putting up 21 points. The Ravens have the best defense in the playoffs while Lamar Jackson is coming off an MVP-like season. This is the year for the Ravens to get back to the Super Bowl and win it all.
