Ravens update: Odell Beckham, Zay Flowers return to practice
The Baltimore Ravens held their third practice of the week on Friday in preparation for the upcoming Christmas Day matchup at the San Francisco 49ers in what looks like nothing but a Super Bowl preview.
Two players who missed early-week sessions, Odell Beckham Jr. and Zay Flowers, returned to the grounds at The Castle and bagged a full practice on Friday three days before taking on the Niners at Santa Clara, per the Ravens' latest injury report.
Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who missed Thursday's session with an illness, was fully active during Friday's practice.
Fellow wideout Zay Flowers also participated fully in Friday's practice. The rookie has been dealing with a knee injury he sustained in the Ravens' game against the Jacksonville Jaguars and he was spotted on a walking boot earlier this week. That seems to have been just a precautionary measure, as he had no issues training on Friday.
Safety Marcus Williams, who suffered a groin injury in the same game against Jacksonville, has progressed steadily as the week has advanced going from limited two days ago to full participation yesterday.
The Ravens are exercising caution with veteran offensive lineman Ronnie Stanley, who has participated in practice for three consecutive days but was only a full participant without limitations (including ditching the non-contact red jersey) on Friday. It's worth noting that Stanley suffered a concussion last weekend.
On a negative development, cornerback Arthur Maulet went from limited on Thursday to DNP on Friday, putting his presence on the field next Monday in question.
Speaking after Friday's session, head coach John Harbaugh revealed that Maulet's knee had experienced a "little flare-up" and that the player is now in a "day-to-day mode" regarding his knee issue, leaving the door open for his participation in the game against the Niners on Christmas.
The 49ers welcomed DT Javon Hargrave back to practice on Friday after he missed last Sunday's game with a hammy. WR Jauan Jennings remained sidelined while RB Elijah Mitchell was a limited participant.
