Even if you have paid little to no attention to the Baltimore Ravens and the NFL as a whole following the end of the last Super Bowl, you must have already heard about the news about Lamar Jackson's extension.

That would be logical, considering the Ravens entered a weeks-long fight with their quarterback that finished with both parties agreeing to the the largest NFL contract ever on a per-year basis. At the end of the day, Baltimore turned Lamar in the richest player in football giving him a hefty $260 million deal.

Earlier this week, just a few days before things get going heading into the pre-season and then the regular season, the Ravens welcomed their rookies to training camp as the freshmen were scheduled to report this week instead of Tuesday, July 25.

There was, however, a rather shocking and unexpected arrival at the Under Armour Performance Center in Owings Mills on Thursday.

That's correct. The very own Lamar Jackson reported to camp five days before he was scheduled to do so officially as reported by the Ravens on their official social network accounts.

Jackson, who is entering his sixth season as a pro after getting drafted by the Ravens with the 32nd overall pick in 2018, said at the start of May that he "wants to throw for like 6,000 yards," per Pro Football Talk. So it makes sense for him to report early if he wants to get ready to become the first player to ever reach that figure.

Right before entering the training facitilies of the Ravens, Jackson declared he is "ready for camp number six," adding "Dang, that happened fast."

Once everybody arrives at Owings Mills and get ready for the preseason, the Baltimore Ravens will kick their summer schedule of with a home game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Aug. 12, followed by a few more friendly matchups leading up to the regular-season opener on Sept. 10 against the Houston Texans at M&T Bank Stadium.
