When does the preseason start for the Baltimore Ravens?

The Baltimore Ravens had quite the offseason in 2023. If you're a fan of Hollywood dramas, then you thoroughly enjoyed the ride that Eric DeCosta, Lamar Jackson, Odell Beckham Jr., Patrick Queen, among others, took us on.

In the end, things are looking positive for the Ravens. Jackson is now under contract for the long-term, thankfully. Beckham comes to Baltimore as the best wide receiver Jackson has ever been afforded the pleasure to throw to. Queen might end up elsewhere next season, but that's a situation to deal with at a later date.

Now, it's time to focus on the season ahead.

Speaking of which, following training camp, when do the Ravens kick off their preseason?

The Baltimore Ravens will kick off their 2023 preseason August 12 against the Philadelphia Eagles

If this was a regular season, game there is no doubt the league would throw it in prime time scheduling. Watching Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson go toe to toe would be something else. However, this matchup likely sees both of those guys either sit out completely, or possibly take a single series before heading over to the bench for the remainder of the game.

The Ravens and Eagles could see some of their notable rookies play a good amount of time, though. Of course, for Blatimore, that's a guy like wide receiver Zay Flowers.

The Eagles, though, have a few key rookies, who are former teammates, that will be fun to watch, as they completely nailed their 2023 NFL Draft. Philadelphia went heavy on Georgia Bulldogs in this year's draft, which is a trend for their organization over the last three years.

Philadelphia added defensive tackle Jalen Carter and edge rusher Nolan Smith in the first round, while cornerback Kelee Ringo was selected in the fourth.

Moving on, the Ravens will travel to take on the Washington Commanders nine days later, on August 21.

After the Washington game, the Ravens will take on the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay for their third and final preseason game.
