No matter what, it always feels like the Baltimore Ravens are just the rich getting richer in the NFL Draft. Eric DeCosta is up to his usual tricks with the 1st round selection of Georgia safety Malaki Starks, one of the most coveted defensive backs from this year's class who inexplicably fell down the board and right into the Ravens' laps.

The Ravens got themselves a steal not too long ago with the selection of former Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton, who has become one of the best defensive weapons in the NFL. Now, they've paired him up with an absolute ballhawk and instinctive playmaker in Malaki Starks, giving Baltimore the best safety duo in the NFL.

Ravens easily have best safety duo in the NFL after Malaki Starks pick

One thing we know the Baltimore Ravens need when it comes to closing the gap and winning more games in January is guys who can make plays on the ball late in games. When it's third down and you have to have someone come up with a big stop, you can't have too many players in the secondary.

Starks is another one of those defenders who sees everything from his deep safety spot, but he can come up to the line of scrimmage and be physical as well. He's one of those guys who you just feel his football IQ coming off the screen as he diagnoses what offenses are trying to do.

The Ravens have struggled after great regular seasons to really close out games in the playoffs, and while that's not 100 percent on the safety position, Starks is the type of player who is undoubtedly going to help close the gap.

He's not as physical of a player at the line of scrimmage as Kyle Hamilton, but the stylistic differences in their game is exactly what makes them the perfect pair. Baltimore won big with this pick.
