The Baltimore Ravens are known for trusting their system and developing talent from within, but this season’s secondary issues are forcing the front office to consider other options. Injuries and inconsistency have exposed the team’s pass defense, which ranks near the bottom of the league.

While rookies Nate Wiggins and T.J. Tampa have shown flashes of promise, the Ravens can’t afford growing pains in a season where every win will matter down the stretch.

With AFC rivals like the Jets and Bills making bold moves for top-tier offensive talent, Baltimore could be eyeing a blockbuster trade of its own. A top defensive back from the NFC South is rumored to be on the market, presenting the Ravens with a rare opportunity to shore up their secondary with an elite playmaker.

Pairing him alongside Marlon Humphrey would give Baltimore the firepower it needs to match up against high-powered offenses in January.

If Baltimore pulls the trigger on this trade, it could be the final piece to solidify the defense for a deep playoff run. With the AFC race tightening and the postseason in sight, the clock is ticking for the Ravens to make their move.

Ravens rumors: Baltimore could look to bring in stud CB before NFL trade deadline

Bleacher Report recently suggested New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore could be made available at the trade deadline.

"The Saints should be sellers before the deadline because their playoff hopes are quickly fading after a 2-0 start. By the way, New Orleans has Lattimore's potential replacement in rookie second-rounder Kool-Aid McKinstry. Between 2022 and 2023, Lattimore missed 17 games, battling injuries. The Saints should consider trading him while he's healthy as they drop in the standings."

Lattimore, a four-time Pro Bowl cornerback, would be a game-changing trade target for the Ravens. If there’s any chance to land him, Baltimore should go all in. With the Ravens’ passing defense allowing the second-most yards per game, just ahead of the 1-5 Jaguars, adding Lattimore could provide a much-needed boost.

Whatever they’re doing now isn’t getting the job done.

A Lattimore-to-Baltimore trade makes perfect sense for several reasons. First, the Ravens’ pass defense needs immediate reinforcements. While the rookie duo of Nate Wiggins and T.J. Tampa shows promise, they still need time to grow - time the Ravens can’t afford. This team needs proven, playoff-caliber talent right now.

Second, the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills made major moves through trades. The Jets acquired superstar wide receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders, while the Bills added standout receiver Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns.

Both teams have postseason aspirations and could face the Ravens come playoff time. Adding another top-tier corner alongside Marlon Humphrey would strengthen Baltimore’s defense against two pass-heavy offenses featuring newly acquired elite targets.

Lattimore might be the final piece that propels the Ravens to a Super Bowl victory.
