Ravens go in puzzling direction in 2025 NFL mock draft roundup

This would be a bit of a surprise, to say the least.

The Baltimore Ravens hold the 27th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and draft experts have been all over the board as far as what the team might do with that selection. Will they try and bolster the defensive side of the ball? Maybe they try to add weapons for Lamar Jackson? What about more depth to the offensive line?

At this point, there's not much that would surprise Ravens fans but one recent mock draft did have an eyebrow raising sort of selection for Baltimore. The other two mock drafts had favorable results for Ravens fans but all three were very different selections.

Ravens are all over the board in latest NFL mock draft roundup

NBC Sports: Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE (Boston College)

Connor Rogers of NBC Sports liked the idea of Baltimore landing Donovan Ezeiruaku with their first-round pick and this would likely entice Ravens fans. Ezeiruaku had an eye-popping 16.5 sacks while tallying 21 tackles for loss during his 2024 campaign with Boston College. That kind of production joining this Ravens defense would be very exciting.

"The Ravens need a pure pass rusher who wreaks havoc on an island, which is exactly what Ezeiruaku brings. He’s a master of creating advantageous rush angles and doesn’t lose momentum when he dips his shoulder around offensive tackles," Rogers wrote.

CBS Sports: Kenneth Grant, DL (Michigan)

Josh Edwards of CBS Sports stuck with the Ravens addressing the defensive side of the ball, selecting Kenneth Grant with the 27th pick. This is another selection that Ravens fans would probably be fond of, considering that Nnamdi Madubuike is already on the roster and pairing them up would be a ton of fun to watch. Edwards shared those sentiments in his reasoning.

"Baltimore brings in Kenneth Grant to pair with Nnamdi Madubuike to upgrade the run defense. He will allow those linebackers to stay clean on late developing pressure," Edwards wrote.

Yahoo! Sports: Tyler Booker, OG (Alabama)

The most puzzling selection for the Ravens with the 27th pick would have to be Tyler Booker, a guard out of Alabama. This isn't necessarily meant to be a slight to Booker but it'd be a little bit of a head scratching pick for Baltimore. Nate Tice and Charles McDonald of Yahoo! Sports said that this was the "simple" pick for the Ravens.

"Baltimore could stand to grab an upgrade at guard for its power run game so here is a guard who is perfectly suited for the power run game. Keep it simple."

While this might stun some people, the Ravens have always made it a point to ensure their offensive line is top of the line. Adding depth when you're not expected to can help make that happen.
