The Baltimore Ravens’ coaching staff continues to draw league-wide attention, and the latest development is one that should have fans on edge.

According to speculation from Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic, Ravens quarterbacks coach Tee Martin has been floated as a potential candidate to replace Ryan Grubb as the Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator. This move would reunite Martin with Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald, Baltimore’s former defensive coordinator.

Seattle’s decision to fire Grubb was no shock—his offense struggled to find balance in 2024. Now, Macdonald is searching for a coordinator who can bring physicality and creativity to the Seahawks’ offense. Martin, who has been instrumental in Lamar Jackson’s MVP-caliber campaigns, appears to be a natural fit for the role.

Losing Tee Martin would be a major blow for Baltimore

This speculation comes on the heels of another major coaching storyline for the Ravens. Offensive coordinator Todd Monken has already been requested to interview for the Chicago Bears’ head coaching vacancy. If both Monken and Martin were to leave, Baltimore could be facing a massive shakeup on its offensive staff—and that’s a nightmare scenario.

Martin’s résumé speaks for itself. After two years as the Ravens’ wide receivers coach, he transitioned to quarterbacks coach in 2023, overseeing Jackson’s evolution as a passer. Under Martin’s guidance, Jackson delivered back-to-back MVP-worthy seasons, including 4,172 passing yards, 41 touchdowns, and a league-leading 119.6 passer rating in 2024. Beyond the stats, Martin has been a calming presence and a mentor in the quarterback room, ensuring the offense runs like a well-oiled machine.

For the Seahawks, Martin’s familiarity with Macdonald and his success developing Jackson make him a top-tier candidate. But for Baltimore, losing him would create a void that isn’t easily filled.

Monken’s and Martin’s contributions to Baltimore’s success can’t be overstated. Monken revolutionized the Ravens’ offense, combining explosive passing with a dominant ground game, while Martin ensured Jackson reached his peak performance. Together, they turned Baltimore into an unstoppable force, breaking records and redefining expectations.

If the Ravens lose both, the task of maintaining offensive excellence grows exponentially harder. Could Baltimore promote from within to fill the void? Perhaps, but the timing couldn’t be worse. The Ravens are legitimate Super Bowl contenders, and any disruption to the coaching staff could ripple through the locker room.

Ravens fans have come to expect excellence, but this offseason may test the front office’s ability to adapt. For now, the hope is that Martin and Monken stay put. If they don’t, the Ravens will need to pivot quickly to avoid losing the offensive momentum they’ve worked so hard to build.
