The Baltimore Ravens have already had a long offseason. After firing longtime head coach John Harbaugh, they were in search of a new head coach for the first time in 18 years. They eventually hired Jesse Minter to replace him, but they’ve also had to bring in almost an entirely new coaching staff. The team has done an impressive job on that front, building a stout staff under Minter.

Now, the 2025 season is finally over. The Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60, claiming their second Lombardi Trophy in franchise history. With the offseason fully in swing, the fun can begin.

The Ravens still have a couple of coaches to hire, but for the most part, they can shift their attention to their roster needs. They have a stacked free agent class and several pressing needs. After Sunday’s Super Bowl, an under-the-radar pending free agent may have revealed himself: Seahawks cornerback Josh Jobe.

Ravens should target Josh Jobe after Super Bowl-winning performance

Much like the rest of the Seattle defense, Jobe had an impressive showing on the biggest stage. He was second on the team in tackles with seven, had one tackle for loss, and broke up a pass. That pass breakup was a big play on third down, knocking the ball away from wide receiver Kayshon Boutte to force a punt.

Of course, it’s usually not great to see corners at the top of tackling lists, but these were statement-making plays from Jobe. He was limiting the big plays and coming up towards the line of scrimmage to bring down New England’s running backs for limited gains. That’s the exact kind of physicality Jesse Minter wants from Baltimore’s defense in 2026.

The Ravens need cornerback depth. Their secondary found endless struggles in 2025, and while the lack of pass rush certainly didn’t help, they gave up an agonizing amount of big plays. Marlon Humphrey and Nate Wiggins were among the league leaders in yards allowed. For Humphrey, in particular, it felt like every game he was getting beaten over the top.

Jobe wouldn’t be an instant solution to Baltimore’s pass defense woes, but he would be a massive help next year. That help is especially needed on the boundary.

When it comes to boundary corners, Wiggins is the only sure thing headed into 2026. Humphrey is a versatile piece, but is best in the slot. Even then, that heavy regression doesn’t exactly bode well for next season.

Veteran Chidobe Awuzie provided stability, but is a free agent, and the only other real contributor on the outside is T.J. Tampa. However, Tampa hasn’t earned consistent playing time yet, and with a new coaching staff coming in, that struggle to gain snaps may persist.

Ultimately, Jobe is an underrated option. Spotrac projects him to sign a contract worth around three years, $29.2 million. That’s about $9.7 million annually.

If general manager Eric DeCosta can sign him, Jobe would immediately be a strong piece in the rotation. And at 27 years old, it seems he’s only getting better.
