Madden ratings capture NFL fans’ attention every year. While ultimately unimportant, they always spark debate about which players are ranked too high or too low. For the Baltimore Ravens, the ratings adjusters missed on several players.

Nothing is perfect, but some of this year’s ratings are baffling. Several players are disrespected by their ratings, and others are undervalued at their positions. Here are two ratings from this year’s game that have Ravens fans confused.

2 confusing Ravens ratings in Madden 26

Kyle Van Noy: 80 overall

Outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy is coming off a career year. He totaled 12.5 sacks in 2024, fourth in the NFL. This wasn’t a fluke, either. Since joining Baltimore, Van Noy has been among the league’s best sack artists, tallying nine in 2023. That’s 21.5 sacks over two seasons, ranking 10th in the league over that span. Yet, he’s just an 80 overall in Madden 26, the same as last year’s game.

Van Noy is tied for 30th among edge defenders. As one of last season’s best outside linebackers, that rating is flat out disrespectful. Players above him include veterans Von Miller and Joey Bosa, as well as New York Giants rookie Abdul Carter, who already ranks higher going into his first NFL season.

For Miller and Bosa, it has been quite a few years since either of them has been at the top of their game. Miller has not posted a double-digit sack season since 2019, and Bosa’s last such campaign came in 2021. It is clear that Madden ratings thrive on name value, and Van Noy is one player who does not receive that benefit.

Rashod Bateman: 81 overall

This issue is not so much about an outlandish overall, but more about who he is ranked behind. Wide receiver Rashod Bateman broke out in 2024, and although the stats were not eye-catching (45 receptions for 756 yards), he still grew to be a respected weapon in the league last year. However, he is somehow Baltimore’s third-highest rated wide receiver in Madden 26.

Zay Flowers leads Baltimore’s unit at an 85 overall, but veteran wideout DeAndre Hopkins ranks second within the team’s position group. Hopkins comes in at an 82 overall, while Bateman is an 81. With just a one overall difference, this could be considered splitting hairs, but Hopkins ranking above Bateman is simply unusual.

The 33-year-old Hopkins is looking to prove he still has some left in the tank with the Ravens in 2025, but there is no denying he regressed last season. Meanwhile, Bateman made significant strides and should be in for an even better year, following an outstanding training camp. Pretty much all Ravens fans would agree Bateman should be Baltimore's second-highest rated wideout—and if he delivers as expected, the Ravens' receiving corps could reach new heights this season.

There are plenty of other ratings where EA Sports missed the mark, but these two have fans scratching their heads.
