Ravens Promote Eric DeCosta To Assistant GM
By Riley B
The Baltimore Ravens have promoted Eric DeCosta to assistant general manager. DeCosta is the likely successor to Ozzie Newsome, the current Ravens GM.
Eric DeCosta decided to stay in Maryland with his family this offseason after being highly sought after by teams lacking a general manager. Starting out as a player personnel assistant, DeCosta has been with the Ravens since their inception and has moved up the ranks. DeCosta learned from the best in Ozzie Newsome and has slowly gained more and more responsibility within the organization. While it is unknown when Newsome will step down, it’s good to know that the Ravens will have his successor already in place.
Additionally, the Ravens made a few other promotions in their front office. Joe Douglas has moved up to national scout and David Blackburn has been promoted to an area scout.
