Somewhat lost in a down year for the Ravens was Jimmy Smith’s breakout 2013. Smith’s third season proved to be a charm as he began to flash the shutdown corner skills everyone knew he had coming out of college.  Along with giving opposing quarterbacks fits and showing sure tackling technique, he flashed his playmaking potential en route to forcing two fumbles and collecting two interceptions.

The second half of last season saw Smith truly reward the Ravens for their patience in him.  He faced off with some of the top receivers in the NFL and quite literally shut them down.  Those five receivers – Josh Gordon, A.J. Green, Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, and Antonio Brown – managed a combined four receptions for 24 yards.

Pretty amazing stuff, and it’s pretty obvious he isn’t getting the attention he deserves after those performances.  So today we’re just going to post up some highlights from the season as a reminder of what Smith did last year, and to get you ready for what promises to be a banner year in 2014.
