Thursday saw an early morning practice that started at 8:30 am, but the intensity was a little more dialed back.  John Harbaugh was visibly pleased at his teams effort, and the first thing out of his mouth in the post practice press conference was “we had a great practice.”  Here are the quick hit highlights from Thursday’s Ravens training camp practice.

-As usual, several veterans got the day off – Haloti Ngata, Terrell Suggs, and Jacoby Jones sat this one out.

-Daryl Smith (groin) did not practice for the second straight day, but Harbaugh said he would be back “soon.”

-Also sitting in the tub today were Ladarius Webb (back), Jeremy Butler (groin), Will Rackey (concussion), and Timmy Jernigan (back).

-Ricky Wagner had perhaps his best day of practice, knocking Chris Canty to the ground with ease on one blocking play.

-John Simon showed some excellent pass rush skills and had what would have been a sack on Joe Flacco at one point.  He also deflected a pass from Tyrod Taylor.

-Lorenzo Taliaferro is looking a little better each day and showed good speed while bouncing to the outside today.  He consistently fights for yards and is a load to bring down.

-C.J. Mosley had some huge hits, particularly one on Shaun Chapas, after which he proceeded to deflect a pass from Keith Wenning.

-Steve Smith continues to catch everything thrown his way and has been fearless in traffic, as expected.  His willingness to take a hit is a trademark.

-Michael Campanaro continues to improve at a rapid rate and had another great day of practice.  He has good speed and is a solid route runner to boot.  He may only make an impact on special teams this season but he looks like a bonafide NFL slot receiver on the field.
