Welcome to Lunchtime Links, where we round up all the latest Ravens news from around the web for your convenient consumption.  Today we find out that C.J. Mosley reminds Lardarius Webb of Ray Lewis, look at where Joe Flacco stands among NFL quarterbacks, identify the weaknesses that are dragging the team down, and another possible cause of Torrey Smith’s woes.

Lardarius Webb: C.J. Mosley reminds me of Ray Lewis

Rookie linebacker C.J. Mosley is on a two game tear that has ascended him to the top of the ranks among not just rookies, but all NFL linebackers.  Cornerback Lardarius Webb has taken notice, and had some high praise for the rook following his outstanding performance against the Colts last Sunday.

“Some of the plays he made on the field today, it’s unbelievable,” said cornerback Lardarius Webb. “Reminds you of Ray (Lewis) — to me.”

It may be a little early to start making Ray Lewis comparisons, but Mosley has been very, very good the last two weeks.  So good, in fact, that he is the only NFL player to have 40 tackles, an interception, a fumble recovery, and a forced fumble through five weeks.  And he leads the NFL with five passes defensed.

NFL quarterback power rankings – week five

Bleacher Report has posted up their latest NFL quarterback power rankings, and Joe Flacco dips a spot to number 19 following an uneven performance against the Colts.  It’s no surprise as Flacco has been very average outside of his excellent performance in week five against the Panthers.

At least some of the blame, of course, falls on the offensive line.  Particularly James Hurst, who looked overmatched while giving up three sacks and consistent pressure to a Colts defensive line that isn’t known for its pass rushing prowess.  But we also blame Gary Kubiak for putting too much on Flacco’s plate Sunday and not staying dedicated to what has been an excellent ground game.

Is the Ray Rice situation affecting Torrey Smith?

Torrey Smith admitted that personal issues were affecting his on field performance, namely the two year anniversary of his younger brother’s passing.  But Bleacher Report also wonders if the Ray Rice fiasco is affecting him as well.  Smith is in a contract year, and is widely known for being an all around good guy.  It’s entirely possible that the way the situation was handled might be weighing on him.
