Welcome to the Daily Caw, where we round up all the latest Baltimore Ravens news from around the web.  Some interesting notes have emerged from the weekend, as John Harbaugh was very coy when addressing illegal formations recently.  And is Arthur Brown really taking a leap forward this offseason?

John Harbaugh: Ravens are working on illegal formationsNate Davis, USA Today

"“We are working on formations – legal formations, illegal formations, unexpected formations,” admitted Harbaugh with a sly grin. “The first time we ran it, you heard (linebacker Terrell) Suggs out there saying, ‘That’s not legal, that’s not legal.’ We will not assume that the referees are going to understand or always get it right when a formation goes out on the field, so we’re working on everything.”"

For Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith, family always comes firstJeff Zrebiec, The Baltimore Sun

"Smith, 36, has 915 career receptions, 81 touchdowns and five Pro Bowl invitations. Undersized but ultracompetitive, he has defied Father Time to thrive for 14 NFL seasons. But, Smith says, “Being a dad is the most important thing. It’s what you take ownership of. It’s the real legacy of your life.”"

Elvis Dumervil has the accolades, now he just wants the ringClifton Brown, CSN Baltimore

"Ravens outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil has the sack records, all he is looking for now is a Super Bowl."

Suggs, Dumervil take different pathsBrian Bower, Russell Street Report

"Last season, the defense, led by Suggs and Dumervil, the Ravens racked up the NFL’s second-most sacks (49, tied with Philly), boasted the No. 2 red zone defense and allowed the fourth-fewest rushing yards per game (88.3).Suggs didn’t exactly get off to a great start as the veteran reported to minicamp in what he called “walking around weight” instead of his normal playing weight.“I’m not out of shape,” remarked Suggs following practice on Tuesday. “As you can clearly see, I can participate in practice without getting hurt and without getting tired, but I’m definitely not at my fighting weight.”"

Ravens linebacker Arthur Brown takes big step forward during offseasonAaron Wilson, The Baltimore Sun

"“I think A.B. has taken a big step forward,” Pees said. “I think he’s feeling a little more comfortable with the defense. He has always been fast; he has always been a tough guy. His problem has always been, maybe, a little bit of thinking what was going on and sometimes that would make him slow to react.“If he knows, he’s plenty fast. He’s a very fast linebacker. He has taken a big step forward, as far as understanding the defense and what he has to do.”"
