Ravens Legends Bracket: It’s a pair of Super Bowl XXXV teammates squaring off here:

The Ravens Legends bracket continues, with a battle between Peter Boulware and Jamie Sharper. The 2000 Ravens defense may have had the greatest linebacker grouping of all time. We all remember Ray Lewis doing his thing in his prime, but he had help from Boulware and Sharper.

Boulware was a do it all player. He was a pass rusher, a run stuffing machine and one of the most explosive athletes ever to wear the purple and black.

Sharper was pretty special himself. Sharper was a physical player who always found a way to the football. He was a tackling machine. He had two interceptions in the 2000 playoffs, including one in the Super Bowl.

Why Jamie Sharper made it to the second round:

Sharper faced Ben Grubbs in the first round. Grubbs was a really good player for the Ravens but he wasn’t a key player on a Super Bowl team. In fact, the Ravens replaced Grubbs with Kelechi Osemele in 2012 and won the Super Bowl. Sharper was a big part of what made the 2000 Ravens click. Sharper did a lot of the tough work in the front seven. He was a player that we can never forget.

Why Peter Boulware is the winner:

Boulware was always going to win this match-up. He is probably one of the top 10 Ravens of all-time. He had 70 sacks. Before Elvis Dumervil had 17 sacks in 2014, Boulware held the Ravens record for the most sacks in a season (15). Boulware played nine seasons. Before injuries slowed him down and eventually made him hang up the cleats, he was a player you had to see to believe. He was tough and ferocious, fast and aggressive. He was also a humble leader who was beloved by his teammates and the fans.
