Rolando McClain Contract Loaded With Incentives

A bit more news has come out today about the 1 year $700,000 contract that Rolando McClain signed with the Ravens on Friday. The Contract has incentives, quite a few of them.
Presumably the incentives are based on behavior, whether or not McClain makes the roster and whether he gets a starting role. If McClain acheives all of his roster bonuses, the deal could be worth up to 1.1 million adding up to 400,000 in bonuses. That may not sound like much as far as NFL contract bonuses are concerned, but when you consider that the main contract is only worth $700,000 and the incentives come close to doubling the deal, it is a significant amount.
This is a pretty good deal for both sides. the Ravens have absolutely zero guaranteed dollars going to McClain so they cant get burned by him and McClain lands in a defense as close to his college defense as possible and in a situation where he can redeem himself as a person and as a player. I was vehemently against the Ravens bringing in McClain, but the more I hear about this contract the more I like the signing. I still dont like mcClain as a person, but This is a low risk high reward deal, the type which the Ravens have made their living with over the past 10 years.
