Ravens Sign Aaron Ross and Dominique Franks, Per Report
By Brett Foote

The Ravens brought a host of defensive backs to camp, and it looks like two of them made an impression. Aaron Wilson of Ravens Insider broke the news on Twitter that the Ravens have signed both Aaron Ross and Dominique Franks.
Ross is a former first round pick of the Giants, and has spent seven of his eight seasons in New York. He has 11 interceptions and 2.5 sacks across 83 games. He drew little interest this offseason at the age of 32, but certainly has some experience and could prove to be quality depth.

Franks played in all 16 games for the Falcons last year. He is quite a bit younger than Ross at 27, and has spent his entire four season career in Atlanta. Franks has three career interceptions but none since 2011.
Franks will likely end up just serving as a camp body, as he just hasn’t shown much in four seasons. The fact that he only played 13 snaps in 16 games last year for a corner needy team is telling. Ross has a decent chance to stick if he stays healthy. He would ideally be nothing more than a fourth or fifth DB at this point in his career. The Ravens are likely hoping one of their young corners steps up to claim the #3 spot behind starters Ladarius Webb and Jimmy Smith.
