Day 9 of Ravens training camp was full of news and notes.  The team revealed an early depth chart, we got a little more clarity on Lardarius Webb’s injury, a player got booted off the field, and there was a new injury to add to the pile.

-Missing today’s practice were Daryl Smith (groin), Timmy Jernigan (back), Lardarius Webb (back), Terrence Cody (hip), and Will Rackley (concussion).  Marshal Yanda, Kelechi Osemele, Owen Daniels, and Pernell McPhee had the day off.

-Chykie Brown has had a rough camp so far, and Saturday’s practice wasn’t his finest moment.  First, the cornerback was kicked off the field by John Harbaugh for kicking the ball.  Then, he returned to the field only to get into a fist fight with wide receiver Steve Smith.  It appears that frustration is beginning to boil over for the youngster.

-Terrell Suggs continued to own Eugene Monroe and got consistent pressure on Joe Flacco.  The offensive line just looked bad today, but in all fairness Marshal Yanda and Kelechi Osemele had the day off.  Ryan Jensen and A.Q. Shipley started in their place.

More from Ravens News

-Jacoby Jones caught quite a few balls today and had his best day of camp so far.  The WR3 battle is one to watch, for sure.  Kamar Aiken continued to push for a roster spot Saturday and looked great in red zone drills.

-Rookie Michael Campanaro, who has been part of that wide receiver battle, had to get his ribs checked out after going down in practice.  Thankfully X-rays didn’t reveal any breaks so he will likely just be sore for a few days.

-John Harbaugh revealed that Lardarius Webb’s back will cost him the first two preseason games, but did again reiterate that it “isn’t a long term thing.”

-The Ravens were forced to cancel their Friday scrimmage with the 49ers due to CBA rules limiting the consecutive days of football activities allowed.

-Harbaugh said Timmy Jernigan should be ok for Thursday night’s game.

-The initial depth chart was revealed, and shows C.J. Mosley as the starting weak side inside linebacker.  Haloti Ngata is starting at the three technique DT spot instead of the nose, where Brandon Williams is taking over.  Darian Stewart is listed as the starting free safety, as expected.
