Day 11 of Ravens training camp, held at Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, saw the possible emergence of a quarterback not named Joe Flacco, a possible turning point for Chykie Brown, Ray Rice’s speed on full display, and a huge touchdown from Delonte Thompson.

-Keith Wenning came out of nowhere and had easily his best day of practice on Monday.  Wenning connected on multiple deep passes, including a hookup with Delonte Thompson for a 60 yard touchdown.  Wenning also connected deep with LaQuan Williams for 45 yards and Jace Davis for 40 yards.  “Keith was on fire in the third-down drill,” John Harbaugh said.

-The other big surprise Monday was Chykie Brown, who picked off Joe Flacco on an attempted pass to Dennis Pitta, and then followed up with a deflection on the very next play.  Brown has been the whipping boy of camp so far, but Harbaugh took notice of his efforts today.  “Chykie in the last week has really come on,” Harbaugh said. “I think he’s calmed down a little bit. He’s playing assignment and technique football. At that position you have to play with some patience, and he’s doing that.”

-Ray Rice continues to show excellent speed after dropping some weight in the offseason.  Harbaugh has definitely taken notice and had a lot of praise for him today.  “Ray has looked really good,” Harbaugh said. “Comparisons to years in the past – we’ll find all that out during the season. But he’s in tremendous shape. I’ve seen him make a good lateral cut. He’s got really good burst, acceleration is there, vision is there. He’s been very patient with the zone runs.  Ray looks really good.”

-One one play, Steve Smith juked Asa Jackson out of his shoes to the point where Jackson fell over.

-The defensive line and linebacker group continues to get consistent penetration.  And this is in spite of pretty good offensive line play.  That group is going to be trouble for opposing offenses this season.

-Multiple wide receivers had touchdowns today, including Steve Smith, Jeremy Butler, Marlon Brown, and Jacoby Jones.

-Out for today’s practice were Lardarius Webb (back), Michael Campanaro (ribs), Will Rackey (head), Marrio Norman (undisclosed), and Terrence Cody (hip).

-Returning to practice were Jimmy Smith, Timmy Jernigan, and Daryl Smith.
