Ravens Resign Phillip Supernaw to Practice Squad
"The Ravens officially signed tight end Phillip Supernaw to their practice squad Wednesday night, according to a league source.Ravens coach John Harbaugh had said previously the team intended to re-sign Supernaw. He cleared waivers after being released from the 53-man roster Tuesday. The 6-foot-5, 248-pound reserve tight end caught one pass for minus-two yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night. It was his first NFL regular-season reception."
Midseason Super Bowl and Playoff Odds
"We’ve already reached the midway point of the NFL season, which once again proved the age-old axiom that time flies when you’re having fun.Well, at least some teams are having fun. Others are floundering and have no hope of reaching the Super Bowl. But there are organizations that can legitimately claim to being Super Bowl contenders and are currently in position to make a run."
"The Baltimore Ravens find themselves in unfamiliar territory — last place in the AFC North. This is the first time since 2007, the year before coach John Harbaugh arrived, that the Ravens are at the bottom of the division in the second half of the season. The Ravens looked like the most complete team in the AFC North when they won five of six games and sat atop the division at 5-2. But losses at Cincinnati and Pittsburgh dropped the Ravens to fourth place. Defense has been the Ravens’ barometer this season. When the Ravens give up 20 or more points, they’re 1-4."
"The Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans both have turned to change as two teams look to get their seasons back on track Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium.Losers of six of their last seven games, the Titans (2-6) hand the ball to rookie quarterback Zach Mettenberger, who makes the first road start of his career. The Ravens (5-4), who sit last in the AFC North and have lost consecutive games for the first time this season, shook up their secondary after allowing six touchdown passes to Ben Roethlisberger, cutting cornerbacks Dominique Franks and Chykie Brown and adding Danny Gorrer and Tramain Jacobs."
